How to use
Three claps, then a quiet moment.
Take a measurement
- Keep your phone stable without covering its microphone. Disconnect headphones, Bluetooth audio and AirPlay.
- Start a measurement and allow microphone access.
- Follow each on-screen clap prompt. Clap once for each of the three attempts, away from the microphone.
- Stay quiet while the app listens to the decay. Follow the preparation and listening cues for each attempt.
Read your results
YEOEUM estimates the time it would take sound energy to decay by 60 dB (RT60). The overall result is based on the 500 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz bands. The app estimates reverberation time from the recorded decay. Background noise and clap characteristics can affect the result.
Open the details to see available bands and analysis status. If there is not enough usable information, the overall estimate may be unavailable. Partial band results do not replace the three-band overall result. The app provides reference estimates for exploring room reverberation.
If you cannot get a result
Wait for background noise to settle, keep the phone stable, and clap only when prompted. Avoid clapping directly beside the microphone. You can cancel and retry.
Records, photos & sharing
Save a place name and notes with each record. Photos are optional for measurement and result sharing. Share a result image or export CSV and JSON from the app. Those exports do not attach audio or photos.
Permissions & deletion
Microphone access is required for measurement. Camera access and permission to add a result image to Photos are optional. You can change permissions in iPhone Settings. Delete records from history, or use data management to remove original files or all app-managed data. Copies already exported to other apps are separate.
Custom reverb inquiries
The optional inquiry package includes original audio, measurement data and a space photo for skin design. Preparing an email or saving the ZIP does not send it automatically. Review the attachments before sending. General measurement does not require a photo or an inquiry.
Anonymous usage statistics
Usage and categorized measurement diagnostics are on by default. You can turn off “Send anonymous usage statistics” in app information/settings without losing measurement features. Recordings, photos, place names, notes and individual RT60 values are not included in analytics. Privacy Policy
