1. Scope and purpose
This policy explains how YEOEUM handles recordings and measurement records, optional inquiry materials, and anonymous usage statistics. This policy will be updated if features or transmitted data change.
2. Information processed on your device
YEOEUM records claps and surrounding sound to estimate reverberation time. Recordings may include conversations or other personal information. Results, original audio, analysis curves, diagnostics, measurement dates, device/audio settings, place names and notes you enter, and optional space photos are stored on your device. The app does not request location permission or collect GPS location. Language and analytics preferences are also stored locally.
Failed attempts, including missed claps and timeouts, and cancelled or interrupted attempts may retain available recordings and diagnostics on your device. If microphone access is denied or recording never starts, only diagnostics may remain.
3. Anonymous usage statistics
“Send anonymous usage statistics” is on by default and can be turned off at any time in app information/settings. Measurement features remain available when it is off. These statistics help us understand feature use and measurement failures and improve the app.
Events cover app opening, measurement start/completion/cancellation, opening records/details, and presenting a share sheet. Properties include result availability, failure categories, completed/analyzed attempt counts, clipping flags, per-band analysis status, bucketed signal quality, variability and measurement duration, device model, OS/app/analysis-engine version and language. Opening a share sheet does not mean content was actually posted or sent. Measurement duration is a bucket covering the flow, including user actions; it does not measure app launch performance, hang rate or energy consumption.
Statistics do not include recordings, waveforms, photos, place names, notes, individual RT60 values, record IDs, file paths, raw error messages or exact measurement dates. Historical records and original files are not read and batch-uploaded for analytics. Event transmission times are rounded to the minute and temporary session numbers are used. The app creates no persistent user, device or advertising identifier and does not link inquiry emails to analytics.
4. Analytics service and retention
Statistics are processed through Aptabase EU (Germany), operated by Technov Solutions SRL. Aptabase states that it temporarily processes the connection IP and User-Agent to derive country/region and an app-specific pseudonymous hash that changes daily, without storing the original IP or User-Agent. This is separate from GPS location collection. Aptabase states that analytics are retained for up to five years. Its policy is available at https://aptabase.com/legal/privacy
Statistics are used only for usage and technical analysis, not advertising targeting, marketing, linking with other services’ data or user profiling. Automatic crash reporting is not performed. Turning the setting off stops future transmission and cancels pending app requests; it does not retroactively delete statistics already received. There is no feature to locate and erase an individual user’s anonymous statistics. Measurement remains available offline or if delivery fails. Analytics is not queued on disk for later transmission.
5. Sharing and inquiries you choose
There are no accounts, advertisements, app-operated cloud synchronization or automatic uploads of recordings/photos. CSV/JSON exports do not attach audio or photos; JSON includes analysis curves and diagnostics. Result images contain the results, place, notes, measurement date and optional photo you review in the preview.
Custom reverb inquiries include original audio, measurement data and a space photo for visual design. The app prepares a package or email; you review and send it yourself. Saving a ZIP does not submit it. Your chosen sharing app, email service and recipient handle materials under their own policies.
The operator uses your email address, message subject/body, submitted photos, audio, place names, notes, measurement materials and support requests to answer inquiries and process production requests. These materials are linked to the sender’s email. They are not used for anonymous analytics or advertising tracking.
6. Inquiry retention and deletion
The operator deletes received inquiry emails and attached audio, photos and measurement materials within 30 days after the inquiry or production request is completed. While a request is being handled, materials are retained for the time needed to process it. Send deletion requests to yeoeum@anotier.art; we will review the request and explain the next steps. This period applies to received materials and does not change retention of records on your device or copies you have shared elsewhere.
7. Permissions and photos
Microphone access is requested when starting a measurement. On iOS, camera access is requested when you choose to take a photo. Photos are optional for ordinary measurement and result sharing; a separate custom reverb inquiry requires a space photo. Photos are re-encoded without copying source capture EXIF metadata. The app does not request access to your entire photo library. On iOS, saving a result image to Photos requests add-only access and does not read existing photos. Sharing filters apply to the result image; the attached photo is stored separately. Permissions can be changed in your device’s settings.
On Android, photos are captured in the camera app the user chooses through a temporary URI grant. Existing images can be selected with the system picker; the app does not request whole-library read access. Saving a result image adds it to MediaStore without reading other photos. Microphone access is requested only when measurement starts.
8. Local retention, backups and deletion
Results/photos remain on your device until deleted. Original audio and diagnostics are kept for inspection, reanalysis and optional reverb inquiries. App-managed record/photo storage and Captures folders are configured to be excluded from OS backups. Uninstalling the app removes its local data. Files copied to Files or other apps are separate.
Deleting one or several records from history also deletes their linked photos and originals. Data management can remove selected records’ original files or all app-managed data, including older experimental/cancelled recordings. The app cannot delete exported copies or sent email. On iOS, temporary sharing files are cleared after the share sheet closes. On Android, temporary exports are removed when the linked record is deleted; files older than one day are cleaned on the next app launch. Storage errors may leave deletion incomplete; follow the app’s message and retry.
9. Contact and changes
Contact yeoeum@anotier.art about this policy or data handling. The effective date will be stated when public release is scheduled. The app and public policy will be updated together if data types or purposes change.
